When it comes down to guides, there are a lot of guides out there advertising their guides will get the job done; they all claim to get you from level one to the level cap within a couple of days (no more than a week). I can prominently say there is one guide which does what it advertises i.e. it guided me to hit the level cap within 7 days or less. I’m talking about Killer Guides TERA Online Strategy Book now priced at $19.99 USD. Before I found Killer Guides, I had issues with leveling in general (at the moment I’m using an adorable Popori Priest) as I was dying a lot. I knew from the beginning the Priest would be a hard class to master as it has more healing spells compared to attacking spells.
Starting off in TERA, I wasn’t sure what I was doing to be honest. Playing the game I suddenly got lost. At the beginning it was a painful struggle advancing through mobs and what not. Sure, I was able to heal myself and all but I completely forgot that I was on my own. So when I was defeated, I was teleported back to the townsquare with less experience points than I started. Quite frustrated, I headed to Killer Guides, a website known for producing in game guides. I used their guides before and I was impressed. Honestly, I didn’t care what others said about the company; I got what I paid for.
Buying the guide now at the discounted price of $19.99 USD, I opened the immediately downloaded PDF, packed with 80 pages of information about each TERA class.
I immediately headed to the leveling section. The guide provides and in-depth analysis on leveling strategies which can be used for each class. Locating the Priest section, I was advised where to go and hunt monsters for their experience points, given the fact previously, the guide recommended basic skill rotations. Killing mobs with my Priest became much easier. Now, as I have enough skill points, I continued reading the guide where to place these skill points. The guide was very firm on where to place the skill points; it reminded me which skills I currently need for my level. Advancing through the guide, I began to understand what I needed to do to become a very powerful Priest. Playing with my friends was enjoyable. For one, I wasn’t dying and two, I became their most valuable asset in the game. I think for people who don’t enjoy PvP now will enjoy it, especially if your character is a supporting healer, like mine.
As I’m unable to share the details of the guide with you (since the guide is under a single license) I could only review specific parts of the guide which I liked and disliked.
Like: I liked how the guide was laid out in an easy to read format devoid of excessive images to boost the page counts. The guide was laid out by classes defining each class by its skills, abilities, pros and cons, equipment, leveling section and questing information. The guide showed me the author knew what they were talking about, referencing to the name of NPCs or combat strategies used in the game.
Dislike: Regardless of what I said earlier, the guide should at least some images such as skill icons . I know it’s not a big deal but I rather have a guide with some images rather than a guide heavily focused on words.
In overall conclusion, I’m happy with the purchase. Soon, I’ll go buy their lifetime membership package and continue downloading their outstanding guides.
